Kami Adams

M.S., CCC-SLP

Kami is originally from Arkansas where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Harding University. She then moved to Nashville to obtain her Masters in Speech Pathology at Tennessee State University. She is licensed to practice speech language pathology in Tennessee and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC’s) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). 

Prior to joining Word of Mouth, she had extensive experience working with children of a variety of ages and abilities, from preschoolers to upper school-age students in the private practice setting. Her expertise lies in assessing and treating a range of communication disorders including articulation disorders, phonological disorders, expressive and receptive language delays & disorders, and fluency/stuttering, and reading difficulties. Kami is trained and experienced in the evidence-based approach, Orton-Gillingham, and has a passion for literacy-based intervention.

Kami believes in a team-based approach with treatment and assessment of speech and language. She has found the most success when collaborating with the parent/guardian, teachers, and other service providers. She is committed to creating a warm and supportive environment that fosters trust and encourages each child to reach their full potential.

When she is not working, she enjoys playing pickleball, being active outdoors, and spending time with family. She is a fan of all things Arkansas sports, Woo Pig!
