Rachel Simpson graduated from Miami University of Ohio in May, 2013, with her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology; she also holds a Bachelor's degree from MU in English Literature.
Rachel gained direct clinical experience in the inpatient, outpatient, home health, and public school settings. She has worked with patients ranging in age from two to ninety-eight, learning both clinical and personal lessons from every individual: she firmly believes that no two patients are exactly alike. Rachel also believes that establishing and maintaining rapport with a patient is just as important as the effectiveness of one's speech or language therapy techniques. Her clinical interests include late language emergence, the interplay between language and literacy, and the ability to self-monitor one's communication.
Rachel recently moved from Ohio to Nashville after getting married to Patrick Simpson. Rachel enjoys art, writing, reading, and a good cup of coffee on the porch. She and her husband had their first child in 2013.
